List of Community Events by Organization: Central Illinois Foodbank, 2nd Annual Corporate Food Fight Challenge – July 31, 2007 Event Info: The Corporate Food Fight Challenge is an annual event challenging area businesses to organize, collect and donate the most food in pounds per employee to the Central Illinois Foodbank. Hunger exists in central Illinois 365 days a year, and the goal of this program is to encourage food donations throughout the whole year. Businesses are invited to pick a specific time-frame to organize a food drive on their own. All businesses that participate within one year’s time compete against other businesses to donate the most food in pounds per employee. The business donating the most food per employee receives a traveling plaque in honor of their contribution at the end of the year. The plaque is passed from winner to winner each year based on which business donates the most food per employee. O’Shea’s Participation: O’Shea Builders organized their food drive in July of 2007 and collected nearly 4,000 pounds of food to donate to the Central Illinois Foodbank. The winner of the 2nd Annual Corporate Food Fight Challenge will be announced on June 5, 2008 on Hunger Awareness Day at a picnic for all participating companies from June 2007 through May 2008.
